CDC has issued travel guidance for pregnant women related to Zika virus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has warned against travel for pregnant women to areas of potential Zika virus exposure, including 14 Countries and Territories in Central and South America and the Caribbean.

As a precaution, pregnant women are advised to consider postponing travel to areas where the Zika virus transmission is ongoing. The alert includes regions and certain countries including: Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
