PGD Technology Offers More Than Designer Babies
Pacific Fertility Center is pleased to announce its 50th child delivered after using preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and preimplantation genetic screening (PGS). Recent media attention about “designer babies” mentioned PGD and PGS. The use of this science for such “futuristic” action should not diminish the value and purpose for which it is used today. Pacific Fertility Center is proud to have been a pioneer in the true science and beneficial use of PGD and PGS .The value of these tools, as a way to help families build healthy futures, should be at the forefront of our medical breakthroughs. PGD has enabled Pacific Fertility Center to extend its goal of building families, one healthy baby at a time.

Octuplets Fiasco Could Have Been Prevented
The recent delivery of octuplets in Los Angeles was a dramatic outcome of fertility therapy, but the drama should not obscure the risk of high-order multiple pregnancy. As we all know, high-order multiple pregnancy is not a desirable outcome, with risk for mother and babies.

Doctor Chenette to Receive Family Building Award from American Fertility Association
Dr. Philip E. Chenette, a Medical Director at Pacific Fertility Center in San Francisco, will be honored, along with five others, with the Family Building Award at the American Fertility Association’s glamorous Kokopelli Ball in New York City on November 5, 2007. Brenda Strong of the cast of Desperate Housewives will present the award.
